Tech)\nJob Summary: The CT Technologist is responsible for
performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) scans on patients,
providing vital diagnostic information to physicians. The CT Tech
works closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals
to ensure that patients receive accurate, timely, and safe imaging
services. They operate CT equipment, prepare patients for
procedures, and ensure proper documentation while maintaining
patient care and safety standards.\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n
- \nPatient Preparation and Care:\n
- \n
- Greet and assess patients to determine the appropriate CT scan
procedure based on their medical history and physician's
orders.\n
- Explain the CT procedure to patients, addressing any questions
or concerns to ensure comfort and cooperation.\n
- Position patients properly to ensure accurate imaging while
ensuring their comfort and safety.\n
- Monitor patient condition during the scan, ensuring they remain
still and follow instructions.\n\n\n
- \nCT Scanning and Equipment Operation:\n

- Operate CT machines to capture high-quality diagnostic
images.\n
- Adjust settings on the CT scanner as needed to obtain the best
image quality for the specific procedure.\n
- Administer contrast agents as required for certain imaging
exams, ensuring patient safety and proper protocols are
followed.\n
- Maintain and troubleshoot CT equipment to ensure it is
functioning correctly and perform quality control
checks.\n\n\n
- \nCollaboration with Medical Team:\n

- Work closely with radiologists and physicians to ensure proper
image quality and to provide any additional scans or follow-up
imaging as requested.\n
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding
patient conditions, test results, and any issues encountered during
the scanning process.\n
- Assist in guiding the patient through the process and providing
post-scan instructions, including follow-up care or next steps if
necessary.\n\n\n
- \nDocumentation and Record-Keeping:\n

- Ensure accurate patient information is recorded in the system,
including medical history, imaging results, and procedure
notes.\n
- Complete imaging requisitions and maintain electronic health
records (EHR) in compliance with hospital policies and
regulations.\n
- Track and log contrast usage, patient allergies, and any
adverse reactions.\n\n\n
- \nSafety and Infection Control:\n

- Follow radiation safety protocols and minimize exposure to both
patients and staff.\n
- Use appropriate protective equipment, such as lead aprons, when
necessary.\n
- Adhere to infection control practices and maintain a clean and
sterile environment in the CT room.\n
- Ensure that all safety checks, such as equipment calibration
and contrast administration, are followed to prevent adverse

- Provide instructions to patients on what to expect before,
during, and after the CT scan.\n
- Address any patient anxiety or concerns, providing reassurance
and ensuring their comfort throughout the process.\n

- Perform regular maintenance checks on CT equipment, reporting
any issues to the appropriate personnel for repairs or

- Adhere to protocols for ensuring the quality of images meets
the required standards.\n
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay
current with new imaging technologies, techniques, and safety

- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related
field.\n
- Completion of a formal CT training program is
preferred.\n\n\n
- Licensure and Certification:\n

- Current certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or
equivalent.\n
- Certification in CT (ARRT-CT) preferred or required within a
specified period after hire.\n
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
required.\n\n\n
- Experience:\n

- Previous experience as a CT Technologist is preferred, but new
graduates with clinical training may also be considered.\n\n\n
- Skills:\n

- Knowledge of CT scanning techniques, equipment, and radiation
safety protocols.\n
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality
images.\n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact
with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members.\n
