Triangle Park (RTP) facility is home to Catalent's Inhalation
franchise including product development, clinical and commercial
manufacturing for pMDI, DPI and Nasal Sprays.--Catalent Pharma
Solutions is Morrisville, NC is hiring a Scientist for the Product
Development Group. The Scientist usually works independently,
conferring with superiors on unusual matters. This person may be
assisted by laboratory technicians/assistants or associate level
scientists. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality
and ingenuity, but will specifically be focused on product
development and materials testing. This person may direct projects
and employees, taking on a technical lead role, and present
progress of their formulation and product development activities
supporting nasal and inhalation development programs to senior
leadership.This is a full-time, salaried role. The core hours are
Monday --- Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PMCatalent is committed to a Patient

Role:
- Work on client projects related to product development
- Develop and execute product development work independently
- Test pharmaceutical drug products
- Method development and qualification of pharmaceutical drug
products, specifically nasal and inhalation
- Write technical documents including protocols, reports, and
certificates of analysis
- Review technical documents for accuracy, thoroughness, and
regulatory compliance
- Identify and support the introduction of new technologies to
enhance product development capabilities at the site
- All other duties as assignedThe Candidate:
- Bachelors degree in Physical, Chemical, Biological,
Engineering, or Pharmaceutical science is required; Masters or PhD
is preferred;
- With a Bachelors, four (4) or more years of experience with
developing combination drug products is required; OR Masters, two
(2) or more years of experience with developing combination drug
products is required; OR PhD with no additional experience is
required;
- Experience working with basic lab equipment such as osmometers,
viscometers, density meters is required, and candidate must have
the ability to perform unit operations such as blending,
solubilization, filling, and labeling and finishing;
- Prior experience working with nasal and inhalation dosage forms
is strongly preferred;
- Knowledge of formulations properties including drug potency,
toxicology, stability, pharmacokinetics, and drug excipient
interactions is preferred;
- Experience with drug product performance evaluation testing
such as droplet-size distribution, spray content uniformity, plume
geometry, spray pattern, and aerodynamic particle size testing is
preferred;
- Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE) and experience
statistical software packages (e.g. Minitab) is preferred
- Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and
