This will include overseeing governance and controls related to the investment policies, reviewing and analyzing investment transactions, reviewing state/federal laws related to insurance company investments, and working closely with senior management and the investments teams on executing investment transactions. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of insurance laws, investment regulations, and financial markets.

• Provide legal and business counsel to senior management and other key leaders.
• Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents related to insurance investments, including investment agreements, asset management agreements, and other transactional documents.
• Provide legal support for investment transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee and lead all aspects of the investment compliance process, including ensuring compliance with investment guidelines and monitoring investment managers.
• Assess and manage legal and financial risks associated with insurance investments.
• Support investment team with subscription documents and regulatory and KYC issues for investment transactions.
• Coordinate and manage outside counsel, as needed.
• Provide support for holding company and operating company boards and investment committees.
• Provide support for other major projects as and when they arise (e.g., capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, etc.).
