Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Payroll
Manager to join an established team in Durham. The Payroll Manager
is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll
administration. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position plays
a key leadership role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll
processing for all employees-full-time, part-time, and temporary.
The Payroll Manager will manage internal payroll operations and
serve as the primary liaison with external vendors and regulatory
agencies. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with
deep knowledge of payroll systems and compliance with local, state,
and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:
Oversee and administer all payroll operations, ensuring accuracy,
timeliness, and full compliance with applicable regulations.
Maintain and update employee records in the payroll system,
including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and
benefit deductions.
Coordinate biweekly payroll processing, including input of hours
worked, issuance of manual and voided checks, and proper
departmental classifications.
Prepare and deliver payroll reports on a biweekly, monthly, and
quarterly basis for the CFO, HR, Benefits, and Finance teams.
Supervise payroll staff to ensure timely and accurate payroll
execution and adherence to deadlines.
Monitor and manage tax reporting and payments, handle unemployment
claims and employment verification requests.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with external
vendors and government agencies.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience managing payroll in a multi-state
environment.
Strong proficiency with payroll systems; experience with Paycor is
preferred.
In-depth understanding of payroll-related laws and regulations,
including ACA compliance.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Human Resources, Accounting, or a
related field preferred.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation, or willingness to
obtain within the first year, is a plus.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational and time
management skills.
Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
with the utmost integrity.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to resolve payroll
issues professionally and efficiently.
