Job Description:
Duties: Works closely with development partners to improve
availability and reliability of supported systems. Writes advanced SQL queries
to investigate and perform complex data correction. Identifies SQL
queries causing performance issues and fine tunes queries to improve
performance. Interfaces with UNIX systems to research available log
information and support scripts. Primary Responsibilities: • Provides support and triages issues for real-time trading
platforms to maintain high availability in production environments and
correct data provision. • Assists with rollout of new products. • Follows established processes and methodologies in the
execution of production data management activities. • Monitors technical issues, incidents, and resolutions. • Identifies root causes for technical issues and assists with
fixes in production environment. • Follows the established change management process by working
with the development partners and release engineers to monitor and
track changes. • Helps produce monthly/weekly operational metrics that are
presented to management and business partners. • Participates in Disaster Recovery exercises. • Reviews change tickets and installation plans. • Assists with service transition of non-functional requirements
for new applications and services. • Operates enterprise monitoring tools to verify and respond
to preemptive alerts. • Complies with technology risk management directives and
responds to audit requests. • Monitors performance, capacity, and recovery requirements in
the production environment. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3)
years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience
providing systems services support within a financial services
environment; Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent)
in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1)
year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience
providing systems services support within a financial services
environment. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) conducting data
analysis, including writing complex SQL queries for data extraction;
performing modeling with relational databases -- DB2, Oracle, and Sybase --
using SQL Developer, Toad, or Rapid SQL; and reporting using Excel within
an Oracle environment with data integration using Informatica; DE
automating builds using UNIX Shell scripting, Autosys JIL, and scheduler; and
performing Disaster Recovery procedures using HPOO orchestration tools; DE
supporting and configuring Apache Tomcat application servers, including
setting up data sources and JVM properties; and performing data monitoring,
reporting, and analysis, using OBIEE, Business Objects, Splunk, Sitescope,
or TIBCO Spotfire monitoring tools; DE performing Shell and Perl
scripting for code releases using Clear Case; debugging and installing application
servers within a UNIX and Windows environment; and supporting COTS
