Job Description:
Duties: Designs, evaluates, and performs highly complex
database performance and functionality testing. Establishes full project
life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms. Primary Responsibilities: • Performs project management functions across multiple
projects, leveraging onshore and offshore resources. • Sets up Disaster Recovery strategy and support Disaster
Recovery testing. • Establishes database standards for operations, upgrades, migrations, and onboarding of new applications and/or
clients. • Diagnoses problem areas and design solutions. • Writes clear and concise technical documentation to
maintain standards and procedures. • Evaluates and recommends software products in database
management arena. • Sets up monitoring of multiple performance metrics through
Oracle Enterprise Manager. • Coordinates database security patching with application
teams, system database teams, and database administration teams. • Works with external vendors and engineering teams within
Fidelity to conduct proof of concept testing for new products. • Coordinates with system database teams to setup database
backup using RMAN. • Establishes and deploys database security standards to meet
the enterprise audit requirements. • Assigns support tasks to offshore database administration
team. • Participates in various production support, database,
housekeeping, and installation functions. • Trains and mentors junior team members. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5)
years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience in
Oracle database administration in a financial services environment;
or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent)
in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3)
years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience
in Oracle database administration in a financial services environment.
Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in Oracle RAC
database administration across multiple platforms -- AIX, Solaris, Linux,
and Exadata servers; DE setting up, installing, and managing Oracle
replication technologies -- Oracle GoldenGate, Veridata, Oracle Streams, and
Multi- Master for distributed databases; DE in performance tuning using
Oracle Enterprise Manager and UNIX shell scripting; and writing
database monitoring jobs in PL/SQL; DE performing table creation in Hive
databases on Hadoop big data platforms, including performing Hive
